At CES, ASUS have unveiled their new range of consumer laptops, with a new range of Vivobook and Zenbook devices, with the highlight, the new dual-screen Zenbook Duo.

The new range includes the latest AMD Ryzen and Intel Core Ultra series processors, as well as the latest ASUS OLED displays.

ASUS Zenbook

Zenbook DUO (UX8406)

ASUS have been moving forward on dual-screen laptops for some time, the latest Zenbook Duo takes a page from Lenovo’s YogaBook 9i, offering a dual-screen laptop that offers an expanded workspace.

The new Zenbook DUO includes two 14” 2880×1800 resolution OLED touch displays, and is powered by the new Intel Core Ultra 9 processor with NPU, dedicated AI engine.

The Zenbook DUO allows for up to 32GB RAM and up to 2TB of SSD storage, with Thunderbolt 4 (USB Type-C), HDMI 2.1 and USB Type-A ports for full connectivity.

The dual-screen laptop has pen support and can be used in portrait or landscape, offering a traditional 14” clamshell laptop, or a large 19.8” OLED display. The built-in aluminium kickstand on the lower deck offers convenient standing solutions including a double display. The Zenbook Duo includes an on-display keyboard, as well as a physical Bluetooth keyboard that means the laptop can be used like a traditional clamshell, and it charges while stored between the screens.

The Zenbook Duo includes a load of screen management, including gestures to reorient windows to either display, and lay-flat hinge design allows for presentations with double the screen.

Zenbook S 13 OLED (UX5304MA)

The ultra-light Zenbook S 13 OLED which I reviewed earlier this year is getting a refresh, with the latest Intel Core Ultra 7 processor with NPU, dedicated AI engine.

The bump in specs doesn’t affect that slim, light, road warrior friendly design with the laptop still measuring just 1cm thin and weighing in at just 1kg. That thin frame still includes full I/O ports with HDMI, USB Type-A and USB Type-C on-board.

You still get a beautiful vivid, 3K ASUS Lumina OLED display which is Pantone Validated and includes Dolby Vision support, with Dolby Atmos certified Harman/Kardon speakers on-board.

Zenbook 14 OLED (Intel – UX3405) and (AMD – UM3406)

The new Zenbook 14 OLED is compact and even lighter than its Vivobook cousins, weighing in at just 1.2kg including the long-lasting 75Whr battery.

ASUS are announcing two models of the Zenbook 14 OLED split between the latest Intel and Ryzen processors. The UX3405 model will include options up to an Intel Core Ultra 9 processor with NPU, dedicated AI engine, while the UM3406 model includes options for up to an AMD Ryzen 8000 Series with NPU, dedicated AI engine.

The laptops will be powered by integrated graphics, with Intel ARC or AMD RDNA on-board. The AMD Ryzen powered Zenbook 14 OLED will include support for up to 16GB of RAM while the Intel model will include support for up to 32GB RAM; both will include support for up to 1TB SSD.

Both Zenbook 14 OLED models will include a 14” 16:10 3K 120 Hz OLED HDR touchscreen and sound by Harman/Kardon which includes support for DOLBY Atmos.

ASUS Vivobook

The ASUS Vivobook series now includes their compact S-series line, with up to 14″ and 16” OLED NanoEdge displays and the latest AMD and Intel CPUs.

The systems are ultra-light and thin, with the Vivobook S 14 weighing in at just 1.4kg and just 1.39cm thin. They’re tough too, with Military grade MIL-STD-810H rating. They do of course come with RGB lighting effects on their ergonomic keyboards.

ASUS Vivobook S 14/15/16 OLED

The new Vivobook S series, include OLED displays with up to 3.2k resolution, 120Hz refresh rate in 16:10 aspect ratio. They’re 100% DCI-P3 and VESA HDR certified.

The Vivobook range includes options for either AMD or Intel CPUs. Systems will launch with options up to Intel Core Ultra 9 processor with NPU and dedicated AI engine, or AMD Ryzen 9 8940H processors with Ryzen AI built-in.  The systems both include ASUS IceCool Thermal technology which uses dual fans to move air over the compact system.

Both will include up to 32GB LPDDR5X memory, and up to 1TB PCIe Gen 4.0 SSDs. Systems include a 75Whr battery

There’s a full range of ports available with USB Type-C and USB Type-A ports, HDMI 2.1 out, audio jack and a microSD card slot. You’ll also hear great sound with Dolby Atmos support on Harman/Kardon speakers.

There’s no announcements on pricing or availability for the new Vivobook or Zenbook range, though we’ll see local announcements throughout the year, so stay tuned.
