Samsung packed a heap of AI into their 2024 flagship smartphone, the Galaxy S24 and this week, those with last year’s Samsung flagship will see some of these features arrive on their phones.
Circle to Search was front and centre at Samsung Galaxy S24 launch event and since then it has arrived on Google’s Pixel 8 smartphones allowing even more users experience the easiest way to search for text or images. As a Pixel 8 user I find myself using it multiple times a day.
Other AI features set to arrive on last year’s devices include Live Translate, Generative Edit and Chat Assist.
The Galaxy S23 series (and other 2023 Samsung flagship devices such as the Galaxy Z Fold 5 and Flip 5) will receive support for Galaxy AI via the One UI 6.1 software update arriving in the coming days according to Samsung US.
Apparently the Galaxy Tab S9 Ultra, Tab S9 Plus and Tab S9 will also be receiving the update in the next week or so.
This time frame is for the US but you would hope that Samsung will be rolling them out in Australia not long after. We have reached out to Samsung Australia for comment on the update and will update this article if and when we hear more.
