Vodafone is trying to address the all too common sight of a smashed iPhone screen, by announcing they’ve added a $0 first screen replacement for Vodafone Device Care customers.
The Vodafone Device Care plan has been taking care of your smashed displays for just $45 since they introduced the option last year. They’re stepping it up ahead of the iPhone 16 launch next month by offering a $0 screen replacement for the first one instead of paying the standard $45 fee.
The estimated price for an iPhone screen replacement is quite high according to Apple, with prices for a replacement iPhone 15 display starting at $465, and going up to $619 for an iPhone 15 Pro Max, so getting a $0 display replacement is a bargain.
According to a recent survey by Vodadone, almost 1 in 5 Australians (19.1%) are living with smashed screens, with more than half of Australians shattering their phone screens up to five times in the past year.
There’s a number of ways the display gets broken, ranging from simple frustration and hurling their phone at a wall, through to more common issues:
- Pocket Plummeter: 70% dropped their phone while taking it out of their pocket or bag
- Social Stumbler: 17% were texting or scrolling on social media when it slipped out of their hand
- Selfie Smasher: 13% were snapping a pic when their phone slipped out of their hands
- Screen Stomper: 6% had their phone screen stepped on or crushed
- Run Club Fumbler: 6% dropped their phone while going for a run
- Baby Bumbler: 5% had their kid drop and smash their phone
Keeping your expensive phone ready to go is a must for most people, so getting a free first screen replacement is a big plus. You can check out Vodafone Device Care for your phone, tablet or wearable over on the Vodafone website.
