Motorola expands the already impressive Australian razr flip family with the razr 50

After the successful release of the best flip phone in Australia earlier this year, Motorola has now introduced the more affordable razr 50 with a RRP $1,199 exclusively through Optus.

The fully functional outer display on the razr 50 is the big upgrade this year with it now stretching to 3.6-inches, the same as the best flip phone of 2023, the razr 40 Ultra. Being fully functional means you can run any app on the external display that you want, be it Google Maps, Messages, Google Photos and more.

Gorilla Glass Victus protects the external display while the device has an IPX8 rating meaning it can be submerged underwater in 1.5 metres of water for up to 30 minutes.

Inside, the display folds out to a big 6.9-inch pOLED 1080P display with a refresh rate of 120Hz and peak brightness of 1200 nits.

The phone is designed to last you night and day with a large 4,200mAh battery and it supports 30W TurboPower charging and 15W wireless charging should you run low.

The external camera has also seen a big upgrade with the 50MP main camera and 13MP ultra-wide and Macro Vision lenses capable of capturing every detail that you wish.

With Google’s Gemini AI and moto AI onboard alongside Motorola’s already impressive Moto UX you can be sure of a great user experience with the moto razr 50.

The new moto razr 50 comes in Beach Sand and Sptz Orange colours of vegan leather while the Koala Grey colour is available in vegan suede.

The moto razr 50 is available exclusively at Optus to buy outright for $1,198.80 or with OptusPay to pay it off over time on an eligible Optus plan.
