The gaming range from ASUS Republic of Gamers (ROG) announced this afternoon at CES includes the latest in Intel, AMD and NVIDIA powering a range of new laptops. 

The announcements include the new 2025 Zephyrus G14/G16 and Strix SCAR 16/18 and Strix SCAR G16/G18, as well as Flow Z13 2-in-1 tablet and the new XG Mobile which comes in a new design.

ROG Strix 

The 2025 ROG Strix family uses the latest processors from both AMD and Intel, as well as the new NVIDIA GeForce 50 Series laptop GPUs announced at CES 2025. 

The Intel-based Strix SCAR 16, Strix SCAR 18 Strix G16, and Strix G18 will see a new chassis design, with full surround RGB lighting and a tool-less bottom panel, a first in a gaming laptop. 

The ROG Strix line-up will see options for up to NVIDIA’s GeForce RTX 5090 laptop GPU, offering the latest advances including ray tracing and DLSS 4. 

Strix SCAR 16/18

Powered by the new Intel Core Ultra 9 processor 275HX with the new NVIDIA GeForce RTX 5090 Laptop GPU delivering up to 175W TGP, the Strix Scar 16/18 will come with up to 64GB of DDR5 (5600) RAM and 4TB Gen 4 SSD storage. 

The Strix SCAR 16/18 will include ROG Nebula HDR displays, with the 2.5K mini-LED panel incorporating 2,000 dimming zones. The display comes in a 16:10 aspect ratio, and offers gamers a responsive 240Hz refresh rate, while creators will appreciate the 100% DCI-P3 colour coverage – and everyone can appreciate the 1200nits peak brightness.

The laptops have been engineered with a toolless design to make upgrades easier, and internally you’ll see improved cooling with a custom vapor chamber, sandwiched heatsink and tri-fan – with liquid metal applied to CPU and GPU. 

ROG have also included a MUX Switch, and NVIDIA Advanced Optimus allowing you to effortlessly switch between performance modes, letting you handle all the AAA gaming, or creative performance tasks you need.

As a design flair, the ROG Strix SCAR 16/18 will include the AniMe Vision bar on the lid, offering a neat way to show your device off and you’ll also get the Aura RGB Light bar across the chassis to really light your device up.

ASUS ROG Strix Scar 2025

ROG Strix G16/G18

The ROG Strix G16/G18 will offer options for either AMD Ryzen 9 9955HX3D or  9955HX processors, or the Intel Core Ultra 9 processor 275HX, with NVIDIA GeForce RTX 50 series laptop GPUs on offer. You’ll see them offered with up to 32GB of DDR5 (5600) RAM and 2TB of PCIe Gen 4 storage. 

Both the Strix G16/G18 will have an ROG Nebula Display with 2.5K resolution and 240Hz refresh rate with 3ms response – it too will have support for 100% DCI-P3 coverage. 

The Strix G16/G18 will both include improved cooling with a full-width heatsink, Tri-Fan tech and full surround vents to move plenty of air while you game. 

ASUS ROG Strix G 2025

ROG have made slight tweaks to the design of the G16/G18 based on the processor, with the AMD model including a unique ROG pixel pattern along with a ‘sleek armor cap and hinge design’, while the Intel equipped models will include a full surround Aura RGB lighting. 

The 2025 ROG Strix G series will be available in an eye-catching Volt Green, or Eclipse Grey. 

Zephyrus G14/G16

Last year ROG revamped the design of their Zephyrus G14/G16 models, and the crafted, CNC-milled aluminium chassis is back this year offering a lightweight, sleek design with the latest hardware underneath. 

ASUS will be offering the Zephyrus G14 with an AMD Ryzen AI 9 HX 370 processor, while the Zephyrus G16 will be powered by the latest Intel Core Ultra 9 processor 285H processor. The Zephyrus G14/G16, the laptops will also include the latest NVIDIA GeForce RTX 50 series laptop GPUs with options for up to RTX 5090 laptop GPU.

The Zephyrus G14 will include a 3K resolution ROG Nebula OLED panel with 120Hz refresh rate, while the Zephyrus G16 will include a 2.5K ROG Nebula OLED panel with up to 240Hz refresh rate – with both models supporting NVIDIA G-Sync for tear-free gaming. 

The aluminium chassis measures just 1.49cm for the G14, while the G16 is slightly more at 1.59cm – with the G14 weighing in at 1.5kg, while the G16 is surprisingly light for a 16” laptop at 1.85kg. 

ASUS ROG Zephyrus Gaming Laptops

The Zephyrus G14/G16 will both be available in a stylish Platinum White or Eclipe Grey, with the ROG Slash lighting feature making for a bold visual statement. 

ROG Flow Z13

ASUS has found a wonderful niche with their gaming 2-in-1 gaming tablet, the ROG Flow Z13, and in 2025 it’s getting an update with a brand-new AMD Ryzen AI Max+ 395 with Radeon 8060S graphics.

The tablet will include a 2.5K ROG Nebula touch display with 180Hz refresh rate. It’s a gaming monster, but also offers creators power on the go with 100% DCI-P3 colour coverage and the panel is validated by Pantone.

ASUS ROG Flow Z13 2025

The tablet includes a kickstand capable of 170° of range, letting you position it where you need it to game comfortably. 

There’s a 70Wh battery inside capable of up to 10 hours of usage, letting you game wherever you want and you can charge quickly with a 200W charging port. 

The CNC machined aluminium unibody contains improved cooling as well, including a stainless steel vapor chamber, and 2nd gen Arc Flow fans which are super quiet, even under full load.

The Flow Z13 also includes the new ROG Command Centre, offering fast access to system functions, and it also includes a large touchpad and keycaps to make working or playing on it easy. 

XG Mobile

As part of the big announcements at CES 2025, ASUS has announced the return of their XG Mobile eGPU which will be using the latest NVIDIA GeForce RTX GPUs, as well as using Thunderbolt5 for connectivity. 

The XG Mobile eGPU will be offered with two options, either the RTX 5090 Laptop GPU, or RTX 5070Ti Laptop GPU – with a single cable all that’s needed to connect to your PC. 

ASUS have redesigned the chassis on the XG Mobile, offering it in an almost sexy semi-transparent smoky black look. The chassis also includes improved cooling thanks to a a new stainless steel vapour chamber, reducing weight as a by-product.

ASUS ROG XG Mobile 2025

The XG Mobile will also act as a hub for your PC, offering loads of connections including dual USB 3.2 Gen2 Type-A ports, HDMI 2.1, Display Port 2.1, 5Gbps Ethernet and microSD card reader and a bonus Thunderbolt 5 downstream port – all connected with that single Thunderbolt 5 cable.
