At CES, Swann have announced a slew of new devices, expanding their MaxRanger with a line of compatible products, as well as announcing an expansion of their AI-driven SwannShield Voice Assistant to more devices – and a new camera, the Xtreem4K with SwannShield AI Defender Security Guard.
Announced at CES last year, and launched soon after, the Swann MaxRanger 4K offers a multi-camera solution with a base station for anyone needing to monitor at a distance, and with a solar panel built-in they’re designed to work anywhere.
At CES 2025, Swann are expanding the MaxRanger suite with the MaxRanger4K Mini, MaxRanger4K Solar, MaxRanger4K Pro and MaxRanger4K Video Doorbell.
The expanded MaxRanger4K line-up will all connect to the same hub, making the range cross-compatible and flexible for users, also making it easy for MaxRanger 4K owners to expand their system – although the devices all come with their own hub.
Designed for open areas, the MaxRanger 4K Mini offers an entry level camera with connectivity up to 300m if you have clear line of sight, or 100m more typically. The Swann hub connects with reliable signals and includes a battery with months of use.
Swann are also offering the new 2025 update, the MaxRanger4K Solar wireless security system. The latest solar powered cameras can still offer up to 600m of range in the open air, using their reliable wireless signal to maintain connection.
Also coming to the MaxRanger line is the MaxRanger4K Pro, a top of the line offering expanding the range up to 3300 feet in range – that’s 1,000m (a km), simply astonishing. The camera is perfect for getting those out of the way dead spots monitored,
Last in the line up is the MaxRanger4K Video Doorbell with SwannShield AI Voice Assistant.
As with the rest of the line up you can place the MaxRanger 4K Video Doorbell up to 300m away, with their wireless connection maintaining a connection to the hub. Perfect for placing it at the gate to your property without running lines.
The MaxRanger 4K Video Doorbell is one of the first beyond the Swann 4K Doorbell to use the SwannShield AI Voice Assistant which can answer the door for you in natural language all based on your preferences.
The AI SwannShield tech launched for the Swann 4K doorbell in October, impressing Trevor by answering his doorbell for him. A set of prompts allows you to set the tone of your doorbell AI, which can then talk to anyone at your door using natural language.
The update will come to a selection of Swann Doorbells including the SwannBuddy4K Video Doorbell, Swann EVO Video Doorbell, and the MaxRanger4K Video Doorbell.
Swann are also debuting a new camera with AI SwannShield at CES 2025, announcing the Xtreem4K with SwannShield AI Defender Security Guard.
The camera is truly wireless with a long battery life, and able to monitor and capture video in 4K. The camera can detect heat, motion, people and vehicles using AI. The on-board AI can detect and respond, with options including spotlights, alerts, video recording and even a siren to scare off potential intruders.
The on-board AI uses generative AI to speak with visitors with Swann saying “it acts like your friend to automatically talk to visitors, delivery people and intruders, dynamically answering their questions, and instructing them appropriately, escalating if there is a security concern. It’s not just about seeing what’s happening- the SwannShield Defender AI Security Guard voice software detects activity and responds on your behalf”.
Speaking about the launch, Alex Talevski, CEO of Swann Communications said
“After the unprecedented success of our long range MaxRanger4K camera and AI SwannShield technology, Swann has embraced the mandate of our consumers and is providing a wider range of products that are in line with our long history of trusted security and are ground-breaking in their use of future tech. Our focus is on creating innovative products that fulfill the ever-changing lifestyle needs of our diverse consumers- from the most reliable Wi-Fi for urban living, to the longest range for more expansive properties and rural areas, to the ability for technology to handle daily interactions through AI. Our commitment is to be at the forefront of the newest security technology that protects and elevates your home.”
At this stage, Swann hasn’t announced availability or pricing for their new range of devices, but we’ll see that coming through the year.
Daniel has been talking about, learning about and using tech since he was able to toggle switches and push buttons. If it flashes, turns on or off or connects he wants to use it, talk about it and learn more about it. Like this article? Buy me a coffee!
