HP unveils new Snapdragon powered OmniBook 5 laptops at Computex

Computex kicks off this week, and HP have shown off their latest release with the new Omnibook 5 series powered by Qualcomm’s Snapdragon platform.

The HP OmniBook 5 Series will come in two sizes, with either a 14-inch or 16-inch 2K resolution OLED touch display. The laptops will be available in one colour only: Glacier silver, but it looks slick packed in a thin and lightweight body.

The laptops will use Qualcomm’s Snapdragon X or Snapdragon X Plus processors, which include 45 Trillion Operations Per Second (TOPS) of on-device AI processing power.

The NPU will power the Copilot+ experience, including a number of Windows features such as Recall and Click-to-Do which are available in Preview, as well as improving Windows Search, and powering generative AI with Cocreator in Paint, as well as support HP AI Companion, that offers on-device support for performance management and more.

HP will configure the laptops with up to 32GB DDR5 RAM, as well as options for up to a 1TB M.2 SSD.

The hallmarks of the Qualcomm Snapdragon processor is present here, with a claim of up to 34 hours of battery life out of the 59Wh battery – which HP says is ‘the world’s longest battery life in a consumer AI PC notebook’ – and it’s supports Fast Charge with a pocket-sized 65W mini GaN charger included in the box.

At this stage, HP have only announced US pricing and availability, with the laptops set to hit stores in July. The HP Omnibook 5 14 will be priced at 9 USD (about 40 AUD), while the HP Omnibook 5 16 will be priced at 9 USD (about 16 AUD).
Update: HP Australia have today confirmed that the OmniBook 5 14” will be launching in Australia next month (June 2025) with a RRP from 99.
