Microsoft has been expanding access to Xbox over the last few years, bringing it to the Amazon FireTV stick, as well as Samsung and LG Smart TVs. The latest to gain access are Hisense and VIDAA OS-powered TVs, with Microsoft announcing they are already partway through the rollout.
The Xbox app will be available to VIDAA OS-powered Smart TVs from 2024-2026, including supported Hisense models as part of the VIDAA OS 9.6 update. Once installed, the update brings the Xbox app to the Home Page or ‘Games’ section of the menu bar or TV.
Once installed, the Xbox app will give XBOX Game Pass subscribers access to stream hundreds of games including Forza Horizon 6, Halo: Campaign Evolved and more, directly to their TV. Xbox Game Pass Subscribers will also be able to stream supported games they already own beyond the Game Pass library.
You will need a controller – like Microsoft’s Xbox Series Wireless controllers – paired to your TV and an Xbox Game Pass subscription, which starts at $12.95 per month for their ‘Essential’ plan.
HiSense has confirmed the update is rolling out in Australia, so keep an eye out for the VIDAA OS update.
