Bambulabs have announced their latest 3D printer, unveiling the H3C, a multi-toolhead printer with integrated AMS3H filament management system.
The new printer is the first in what appears to be an upcoming line of third-generation printers, building on Bambulab’s successful H2x series printers including the H2C which Trevor checked out earlier this year.
The printer comes with a large 5” LCD display for on-board control, and has an enclosed 330 × 320 × 325 mm build volume. The star of the show is the “SwapTek” 9-tool tool-changing system.
The SwakTek system features independently fed toolheads feeding different types, and colour filaments reducing the potential purge waste. The system can switch in as little as six seconds reducing overall print time for multi-colour prints.

The printer comes with hardened steel nozzles capable of reaching 350°C, also allowing the printer to handle all types of filaments including PLA, PETG, ABS, ASA, PC, PA, PPS, PET, TPU (down to 75A), as well as abrasive carbon- and glass-fiber composites.
The system is driven by the FlexFeed mechanism, which supports standard 1.75 mm filaments as well as 2.85 mm filaments for high flow printing. The 2.85mm support also expands support for TPU printing. The ultra-soft filament often has feeding issues at 1.75mm, but the thicker filament holds rigidity in the feeder better, including filaments down to 75A TPU.
Driving this Swaptek multi-toolhead system is the new AMS 3H. TheAutomatic Material System (AMS) is integrated into the printer, offering a fully enclosed filament management system supporting up to nine filaments, including a dedicated TPU inlets which now let you print TPU straight from the AMS, without an external spool.

Every spool of filament in the AMS 3H remains enclosed to protect it from moisture, however there are also two dedicated slots that can reach up to 85°C which Bambulabs says can dry most filament, even when printing.
The AMS 3H supports RFID, allowing the printer to read the filament type, colour and more and automatically route the filament, then sync with the slicer, so you know exactly what is on board for your next project.
There’s also options to expand material feeds by connecting an older-generation AMS allowing access to up to 24 materials in a single print.
The Bambulab H3C with AMS 3H is priced at $3,999 and is available to order now directly from their store.
