First launched this time last year in Berlin at IFA the Samsung Food app is all about planing what you eat based on what food you have, but now gets an update one year on with new AI capabilities.
In just a year Samsung Food is now past six million users, looking for meal planning and cooking assistance in their homes and busy lives.
Unquestionably the most popular features are the recipe planner, shopping list and overall meal planner.
The app also draws data and links to Samsung Smart Appliances, as Samsung’s Jeremy Senior explained, “In combining our staple kitchen appliance innovations with new AI technologies, we’re able to simplify everyday experiences such as the process of making dinner,”
“Currently, Australians spend up to 20 hours a week on household tasks including building shopping lists and researching recipes. Unsurprisingly, 9 in 10 Australians have told us they’re interested in kitchen technologies that assist with meal planning and prepping. Samsung Food helps Australians rediscover their passion for cooking by making meal planning and preparation easier, so they can spend less time on life admin and more time on the things they love.”
This is also a service from Samsung, so the premium features of Samsung Food are part of Samsung Food+ a subscription service which incorporates more than just food and recipes but your overall health, goals and plans.
Plus, like everything these days there’s AI features now too.
You can take a photo of an item of food to add it to your food list, allowing people without the Samsung AI Vision inside their fridge to have that same functionality.
Another new feature is “Search with your Food List” which prioritises recipes that have your already owned foods in them, plus, after you cook those items can go back onto your shopping list.
Finally, Samsung Food now takes into account your overall wellness and health based on other Samsung health inputs, and helps to create a tailored for you weekly meal plan.
