ACER has announced they’re getting into the Windows handheld gaming market, with the Nitro Blaze 7 shown off at IFA.
Just like it’s competitors, the ACER Nitro Blaze 7 will include a 7” 1080p display with controllers on either end. Where it gets interesting is that ACER hasn’t used the AMD Z1 Extreme processor, so far found in the ASUS ROG ALLY and Lenovo Legion Go, instead opting for an AMD Ryzen 7 8840HS processor and Radeon 780M integrated GPU.
The Nitro Blaze 7 will have a display capable of 144Hz refresh, and also supports variable refresh rate so it should be nice and smooth too.
Along with the Ryzen 7 CPU, the Nitro Blaze 7 will include 16GB RAM and include a 2TB M.2 NVMe PCIe SSD. For connectivity there’s dual USB Type-C ports and Wi-Fi 6E support, with a microSD card slot for expanding storage.
ACER includes a 50Whr battery in the device, which should give at least over an hour of gaming – but we’ll have to wait for it to reach our hands to check that out more fully.
While the Nitro Blaze 7 will use Windows 11, which has been a bit of a barrier on other handhelds, ACER are bringing their Game Space feature to the device, letting you access your games quickly without having to interact with the OS too much.
At this stage, ACER hasn’t confirmed any price or release date, but we’ll bring you more info when it’s available. Until then, you can head to the ACER website to check it out.
