Key trackers, smart tags whatever you call them they’ve been around for a very long time. But Apple changed the game when they made pretty much every single Apple device in the world a part of the search party for your lost item when they announced Apple AirTags.
And with that, an industry was shaken up and reborn. Tile moved quickly to find a way to broaden their network, acquiring Life360 to create a far bigger active install base on smartphones.
Then came devices with compatibility to the Apple FindMy network. I’ve been testing two from Aussie company Laser and they are awesome.

Laser Smart Tag
This is an IP7 rated waterproof tag for your keys, your luggage or whatever you want to attach it to. Unlike the Apple AirTag it has a hole to hook your keyring or chain to, and on the back is a small screw that is required to be unscrewed to change the battery – which is an added layer of child protection.
It works with Apple FindMy so you simply “Add Other” in the Find My app and it works just like an AirTag, it’s only missing that Ultrawideband chip for localised arrow pointing to find the device within the room you are in, but it has a beeper so you can activate that to help you find it.
Great price, no accessory needed.
Laser Slim Card Smart Tag
For your wallet, this one is a winner, it’s thin (3mm) which is just a touch thicker than the Chipolo card I reviewed previously.
Advantage here is that it’s cheaper, but also, the Chipolo battery cannot be changed or charged. The Laser Slim Card Smart Tag has Wireless Charging! I was blown away by this!
So good, a great investment for you wallet, the wife’s purse, your passport wallet and more. I’m going to buy 4!
