At CES 2025 Garmin has announced the new Instinct 3 Series of rugged smartwatches — now available with an AMOLED display or a solar-powered display for improved battery life.

The Garmin Instinct 3 series has a metal-reinforced bezel, fibre-reinforced polymer case, and scratch-resistant display for maximum durability. This new series of watches is also built to MIL-STD 810 standards for thermal and shock resistance and is water-rated to 100 metres.

With trendy, limited-edition colours and a durable design, Instinct 3 is the smartwatch you can wear whenever, wherever. Packed with connected features, popular built-in sports apps and 24/7 health and wellness monitoring, the latest lineup is built to help you follow your passions—whatever they may be,” said Dan Bartel, Garmin Vice President of Global Consumer Sales.

The Instinct 3 series watches also include a built-in flashlight that provides variable intensities, a red light, and a strobe light, suitable for all environments and situations.

The AMOLED and solar options of the Instinct 3 series watches are available in 45mm and 50mm sizes and in various colourways such as Black, Black/Charcoal, and the new Tropical Pulse collection which includes Neotropic and Neotropic/Twilight colours.

Other Instinct 3 series features include a larger, more efficient solar lens, 24/7 health and wellness monitoring including women’s health tracking, a morning report, smart notifications, Garmin Messenger app, Garmin Pay, multi-band GPS with SatIQ and Garmin Share to quickly share saved locations, courses and workouts with other nearby compatible Garmin smartwatches.

Available in the US on January 10, starting at US$399.99, it is unclear when this will be available in Australia, but keep an eye on the Garmin Australia website for further information.
