It’s a case of three-in-a-row for Superloop as they take the crown yet again for Australia’s Fastest Fixed Network in Ookla’s Speedtest awards. It is the first time any internet service provider has managed to score a hat-trick.
We’ve all done it. Get a new phone, laptop or other device or sign up to a new service or really anytime the internet doesn’t seem to be working too well and we’re all heading to speedtest.net or on the Ookla Speedtest app to see if we really have an issue or are getting the speed we’re paying for.
Maybe you’ve just invested in a new mesh wi-fi router and want to make sure every room in your house is getting the advertised speed, the first thing we do is run the test.
Well Ookla makes good use of those test results and analyses them and can drill down to telco. It looks at network throughput and responsiveness, and combines download and upload speeds alongside latency to produce an overall Speed Score.
From 1 January to 30 June 2026, Superloop recorded the highest Speed Score of any fixed network provider in Australia. This follows achieving the same position for the entire 2025 period.
“We’ve invested meaningfully in our network, and three consecutive Ookla Speedtest Awards tells us that investment is delivering for homes, businesses and enterprise customers right across the country,” said Superloop’s CEO Paul Tyler. “Three awards in a row reflects the consistent performance of Superloop’s network as measured by Ookla and reinforce our commitment to delivering fast, reliable broadband for Australian customers.”
This new recognition comes on the back of other recent gongs such as the
- nbn Provider of the Year at Finder’s Broadband Awards,
- Winner of 8 awards including Broadband Provider of the Year at the 2026 WeMoney Telco & Broadband Awards
- Best Internet Services Provider in the ProductReview.com.au Annual Awards
- Canstar’s Outstanding Value category winner for High-Speed nbn plans
That’s a lot to pack into the last few months so Superloop must be pretty pleased with themselves. Members of our Facebook Group “The EFTM Man Cave” and callers to our weekly podcast tend to spread good news about Superloop so it’s obvious they are doing something right
I am sure they won’t want to rest on their laurels and are keen to get more customers so maybe they should be on your shortlist next time you consider changing providers. Maybe even reach out to existing customers to get a nice referral code
