As previously reported the 2019 Hyundai Ioniq is here. For lovers of EV cars, it’s a bit of a smorgasbord with three electrified powertrains on offer. We’ve taken delivery of the mid-range Plug-in Hybrid model which acts as a stepping stone between the Hybrid model and fully EV variant.
Hyundai claim this model has an EV range of 63 kilometres, so we’d thought we’d put that to the test today for a trip to IKEA. A trip we’ve done several times now since EFTM HQ was constructed.
The plug-in version is priced from $40,990 and has a claimed fuel economy of just 1.1L/100km. We will have a lot more say over the next few weeks as the Ioniq occupies the EFTM Garage.
