Artist Leon Kreer has made history fun by recreating China’s Terracotta Warroiors as 3D street art – replacing the Terracotta Warriors with Lego men.

Kreer can’t take all the applause though, as he was in fact a leader of a team of artists called Planet Streetpainting that created the amazing optical illusion for the Sarasota Chalk Festival in Florida, USA.

He told UK’s The Daily Mail: “I wanted to bring the famous Chinese statues alive, but decided to use Lego rather than just copy the originals. Everybody knows lego from their childhood as a good tool to explore the imagination. It’s not an attempt to change the history, but rather to give something informative to the public and question the existing environment of its opportunism and society control.”

The Terracotta Warriors were discovered in 1974 and are now one of China’s biggest tourist attractions. They depict 8,000 warriors of China’s first emperor, Qin Shi Huang.
