American football can be a tiresome spectator sport. Unless of course one of the players front flips over the oncoming defenders. Then it’s awesome.

This clip from a college football game in Lincoln University in Missouri has been doing the rounds online, and while you’ll probably miss it first up, watching the replay shows something truly amazing. The game’s running back literally lines up a defender before forward flipping over his head.

It’s a shame he doesn’t go all the way into the endzone to score off that play. What an amazing effort.

Now, to show the Americans that us Aussies are the true football masters, I expect to see a forward flip play in every code this weekend. NRL, AFL and Rugby Union players all need to hit the trampolines to practice aggressively forward flipping the opposition. Let’s make this happen, footy stars!
