For a nerd like me, the E3 conference is like a candy store of interactive promises, as gaming companies try and outdo eachother with flashy trailers for upcoming games. These are this year’s most exciting trailers.

Assassin’s Creed III

Say what you want about the American Revolution setting, anonymous internet commenters… This looks breathtaking. After three fairly similar Assassin’s Creed titles, the official third part of the trilogy looks to breath new life into the franchise. October 30 can’t come soon enough!

Sim City 2013

Given the reactions of Trev and Damo about this game, I think I’m going to be tending the EFTM fort alone when this game launches next year. Looks pretty!

Beyond: Two Souls

Wow. Ellen Page stars in Quantic Dream’s latest PS3 exclusive. The team behind Heavy Rain looks to have created a fascinating action game built around a powerful story. The motion capture in this is a whole other level!

Watch Dogs

Ubisoft has an explanation trailer for this game as well, but it doesn’t compare to this gameplay footage. Like a high-tech GTA, Watch Dogs looks amazing and is based on the sci-fi premise that all your private information has become public thanks to smart software.

XCOM: Enemy Unknown

Sure, we had our hands on this a couple of weeks back, but the new trailer shows just how visually amazing the strategy game is, and is well worth checking out.

Halo 4

One of the most popular franchises of all time is back later this year, and Microsoft is starting to shout about it. Master Chief returns with this trailer, and while the big green man may have saved the universe a few times already, that doesn’t mean he gets to sit down and relax!

Gears of War: Judgement

Baird was always one of the most entertaining Gears in the Gears of War franchise, which is why it’s awesome he gets his own game. With improvements to multiplayer Horde mode, this will be a must-own for Gears fans.

The Last of Us

Oh yes. If you were wondering how Naughty Dog was going to top its ever-successful Uncharted series, this is it. Post apocalyptic, scary, violent and potentially game-changing, this is exactly what you’d expect from a Naughty Dog title.

Playstation All Stars: Battle Royale

Like Super Smash Bros, except with Playstation characters, this is interesting not so much as a genre-changing title, but for the fact that it includes Big Daddy from BioShock and Nathan Drake from the Uncharted series. Well, that and the fact you’ll be able to play it cross platform between PS3 and the Vita…

Assassin’s Creed III Liberation

Finally, a new Vita game to get excited about. Ubisoft has taken the Assassin’s Creed franchise to the Vita with its first female assassin, who uses blow darts, a machete and dual pistols to fight off Spanish forces in Louisiana in 1765. There’ll be some cross console unlocking going on with ACIII as well.

Forza: Horizon

Bringing the Forza world off the beaten track and into the wild, Forza Horizon is stunning and dangerous in a new way for the franchise, and promises a refreshing look at the Forza experience.

Splinter Cell: Blacklist

Sam Fisher is back, baby. Kicking arse and taking names like only he can. Tasked with taking down a series of rogue nations planning terrorist attacks on US assets in their countries, you have to do all you can to stop it. Typical Splinter Cell, with some spectacular graphics and innovative gadgets to utilise.

The show continues, and we’ll update with more awesome trailers as we see them!
