Track Your Calories Automatically with GoBe2

Wearables have been around for a few years now, and this year at CES is no different. So companies are looking for something different to stand out from the crowd. As I walked the halls of CES, I came across a wearable band called GoBe 2 that has some features that I haven’t seen before.

The GoBe 2 isn’t just your normal wearable sportsband, it’s a complete health and wellness portal. It tracks the usual data expected from wearable devices such as your steps, sleep quality and heart rate. But what set’s the GoBe2 apart from the rest is the ability to track your calorie intake automatically, track your water hydration and stress levels.

This is a game changer in the wearable space. No longer do you have to manually input your food and water consumed into the app and monitor it that way, this does it all automatically through the tracker on your wrist.

As your body digests your food and drink, it is converting it into glucose. The process continues for about 4-6 hours depending on what you eat and your body’s physiology. As glucose concentration rises, your cells absorb glucose and release water. The GoBe2 uses a sensor to measure the fluid moving in and out of your cells 24 hours a day.

The GoBe2 is able to determine the amount of calories you have taken into your body simply by analysing the glucose moving in and out of your cells. Not only is the data useful to ourselves but it can be shared with healthcare professionals and your personal trainer. It will also work with your favourite health app such as Google Fit and Apple Health.

The GoBe2 is water resistant for most daily activities including swimming and showering but not recommended for salt water. It has a 48 hour battery life and is charged with the included USB cable and dock. There are six colour band available and extra bands can be purchased.
