The rise of the gin and tonic has been obvious in recent years, what was often thought as a rather cheap and simple drink has never been more popular at your local bar and they are coming in all varieties.

This week we’ve been able to sample gin from Japan. One of the world’s largest beverage companies, Suntory, is bringing Roku Gin to Australia and they are claiming to be completely unique to other gin brands. Sakura flower, sakura leaf, yuzu peel, sencha tea, gyokuro tea and sansho pepper are individually distilled by the Japanese artisans in Osaka, Japan. Six botanicals making sense of the English translation of Roku, meaning “six” in Japanese. The signature serving suggestion is the way we drank it and you can do it yourself.

Roku Perfect serve

In tune with the spirit of Japanese hospitality Omotenashi, we have created the Japanese Gin & Tonic. Prepared with extra care, the Japanese Gin & Tonic is served with ice and slices of ginger to complement the refreshing and citrus top notes of yuzu. More than a simple Gin & Tonic, a refreshing ritual to be enjoyed with friends. Blissful delight in the moment served, exceptional experience in the moment shared.
