Oh you thought your mates 75 inch TV was big huh? Or perhaps someone you know has an 80 something incher? Hisense are here to help, allowing you to brag about your 100 inch TV in 2019 with their announcement here at CES 2019 in Las Vegas.

Now while Hisense are calling this a 100-inch Television, it is actually better defined as a 100 inch Laser Projection, but with the concept of projectors seemingly reserved for the specialist home theatre room it’s important they set a new boundary for this style of screen.

While pricing and availability won’t be announced yet for a few months, we do know Aussie buyers will receive “White Glove” installation in their homes as they setup their stunning cinematic experience.

Hisense have showcased Laser “short throw” technology for some time now at global trade shows, with many overseas markets enjoying the technology in retail, but this is a first for Australia.

“More and more of our Australian customers are demanding larger-than-life televisions and we’re thrilled to announce the addition of a show stopping 100-inch TV to our line up in 2019,” said Andre Iannuzzi, Head of Marketing at Hisense Australia.

“This big and bold TV is yet another example of our commitment to bringing Australian consumers more choice at the premium end of the market. Globally, Hisense has invested heavily in the research and development of its proprietary laser technology, and the result is a truly innovative and exceptional TV, that provides an unparalleled at-home cinema experience,” he added.

As tipped in the official name -100-inch 4K Ultra HD Smart Dual Colour Laser TV with HDR – Hisense’s 100 inch Laser TV will feature HDR10 in the 4K Ultra HD screen, as well as a fast motion rate and Hisense Smooth Motion Plus for their best TV experience.

It will join the ULED and OLED range which are Series 6, 7, 8, 9 etc, as the Series L TV for Hisense.

The actual “TV” is a box that sits near to your wall (19 cm from the wall), kinda like an oversized soundbar, and features 14 built-in speakers with JBL Cinema Sound for a really great “out of the box” experience.

It’s also a “Smart TV” with Netflix, Stan and YouTube built in, all of which appears on a thin and lightweight 100 inch screen which hangs on your wall with no wires connecting it down to the box, or any need for in-wall wiring.

We await with bated breath the pricing and availability details.
