Google has today announced the dates for their Google I/O 2020 developer conference, doing it in particularly nerdy fashion with a collaborative puzzle.

The puzzle was announced by the Google Developer Twitter account in the wee hours of this morning. The game, which though it’s been solved is still live, had hopefuls attempting to restore an in-game satellite network to uncover the clues which would reveal the date: May 12-14.

Google CEO Sundar Pichai has confirmed the dates, and advised the event will again be held at the Shoreline Amphitheatre, which is conveniently located adjacent to their Mountain View HQ.

Though Google I/O has typically been a very nerdy event, Google has spiced things up previously in the last couple of years announcing hardware, including the Pixel 3a/3a XL phones at their keynote address last year.

With the international timeline we’ll see the Google IO Keynote on May 13 here in Australia, and we’ll be bringing you all the news from the event as it’s announced. Now if you want to see if you can work out the puzzle, you can do so on the Google Events website.
