The stunning all-electric Porsche Taycan is closer than ever to its Australian debut and on-sale date, with Porsche Australia setting the prices today starting at $191,000 going up to $339,100.

Carrying the famous 4S badge, the entry level Taycan is no slouch. It has a 79.2kWh battery, unique two-speed transmission all generating 390kW of power and a staggering 640Nm of torque.

That will get you 0-100km/h in 4.0 seconds, and is set for a 365km road trip on one charge.

Throw the performance plus pack into the 4S and you’ll get a 93.4kWh battery upping the power to 420kW with a range of 414km.

While there’s certainly no physical turbo in the car, the Taycan badged Turbo goes even further, 500kW of overboost power combined with launch control gives a 3.2 second 0-100 time.

At the top of the range, the Taycan Turbo S pumps out 560kW of power, and gets you to 100km/h in 2.8 seconds with 405km range, compared to the 420km range of the Turbo.

Porsche Australia boss Sam Curtis says “The highest compliment you can afford the Taycan is that it is a true Porsche sportscar,”

“It has the soul of a Porsche, and all of the performance and luxury you would expect from one of our sportscars.

“At Porsche, E-Performance provides efficiency and performance. The Taycan is the perfect example of this. It is a purely electric vehicle, and also a true Porsche sportscar.”

Porsche Australia have smartly partnered with Chargefox who are building the largest EV charging network in the country, offering three years Ultra-Rapid DC charging across the nework, and complementary charging at Chargefox’s Fast DC sites (mostly 50kW chargers)

Similarly, Porsche will offer a consultation with JET Charge (who run Chargefox, but do private installations), to determine your home installation requirements and of course quote you on that installation.

Like Tesla, Porsche see “destinations” as a key to this car, offering a “Destination Charging Network” in locations they think Porsche owners will want to go, allowing you to plug in on arrival for a boost of power for the return or onward journey.

All Aussie sold Taycan’s will come with the most up to date public charging hardware Porsche has, including a 150kW on-board DC-Charger and a Mode 3 Charging cable for almost all AC charging points in Australia.

Additionally, all three models will get Surround View, Lane Change Assist, Lane Keeping Assist, Adaptive Cruise Control and a host of other normally optional features.

The Taycan 4S will include 20 inch Taycan Sport Aero wheels and more.
