A new partnership between Fitbit and Tile, which will begin by letting users of the Fitbit Inspire 2 find their fitness tracker using the Tile Bluetooth tracking platform.

Current and new owners of the Fitbit Inspire 2 will be able to take advantage of the new feature through a software update rolling out this week. Once the update is installed, all you’ll need to do is install the Tile app, available for Android and iOS, and then check the most recent location of your Fitbit.

Tile uses Bluetooth on both your own devices, as well as a global crowdsourced network which lets you track your devices even if they’re not in range of you. As long as another Tile user happens to cross paths with your Tile enabled device you’ll be notified of its location.

Integrating tracking into devices isn’t new, with Tile previously announcing partnerships to integrate their tracking tech into HP laptops, SkullCandy headphones and loads more.

Tile is offering a premium option as well as their free tier, with Smart Alerts available to notify you if you start leaving the house without your Fitbit. Tile Smart Alerts are part of their Premium subscription which will set you back $2.99/month or $29.99/year.

If you don’t already have one, you can get your hands on the Fitbit Inspire 2 from Fitbit.com and select retailers including JB Hi-Fi, Harvey Norman, Amazon, Officeworks, The Good Guys, Bing Lee and Big W for $179.95.
