Ever gone to print something important at home only to find the printer printing only in a random pink colour? How about having the printer run out of ink halfway through the document? HP are looking to prevent this from happening with their at-home ink subscription, Instant Ink.

With more of us working from home the need to be able to print documents at home has increased. Instant Ink, paired with the HP Smart App will notify HP when your printer is running low and automatically ship the ink you need directly to your door.

The new solution is a subscription-based model with plans starting at $1.99 per month, saving customers up to 50% on ink costs. The monthly plans are flexible and are based on the number of pages you print at home (if you print less, you pay less). The ink cartridges shipped to your home are high-volume cartridges which last longer than the standard cartridges. The empty cartridges can also be returned to HP for recycling to help decrease your e-waste.

Paul Gracey, Director of Printing Systems, HP Australia and New Zealand, said, “Our home and office needs are continuing to change as we embrace hybrid working and learning, and this is seeing a surge in the demand for printing at home. Instant Ink means we’ll no longer experience the dreaded ‘ink emergencies,’ with ink delivered straight to our doors well before running out. Instant Ink is bringing a level of flexibility never seen in printing, and we’re proud to bring this to Australia”.

Not all HP printers are eligible though and to check if yours is eligible head on over to the Instant Ink webpage. When customers sign up to the service with either a new or old compatible printer they will receive a free two-month trial. There are no lock in contracts for the service with the customer able change or cancel their subscription whenever they want.

Although Instant Ink is new to Australia it is not new to the world with over 9 million subscribers worldwide. HP Australia have teamed up with everyone’s favourite Masterchef judge, Manu Feildel, to promote the launch of Instant Ink.

HP and Manu are calling for Aussies to share images of their treasured family recipes. Simply upload your recipe to Instagram with the tags @hpaustralia and @manufeildelofficial with #familyinkgredients #HPAustralia and share a reason why you’d like to have Manu cook your family recipe. There are weekly Instant Ink giveaways with one lucky winner being brought to Sydney to have Manu cook their family recipe in his kitchen!
