If there’s one thing we’re seeing from the world of electric cars – it’s a glimse into the future vision designers have about how cars should look. Notice something familiar about them all? They literally look futuristic.

The latest concept from KIA is a great example.

Concept EV9 follows the launch of the smaller EV6 and points to an all-electric future for Kia with their SUV range heading that way.

Will it look like this in production? Maybe.

But for now, it’s a great thing to look at and think – is that the future I want?

Personally, I’m all in – looks amazing.

A wide open side with all doors open, basically walk through design.

Race-like slim steering wheel, minimalistic interior and design with a bold squared exterior look.

“The Kia Concept EV9 is yet another important marker for us in what has been an incredible journey since the start of the year. Having made our intentions clear – to become a global leader in sustainable mobility solutions – today we are proud to show the world our all-electric SUV concept, which fuses together an advanced zero-emissions powertrain, a cutting-edge exterior design and a contemporary and innovative tech-based interior space,” said Karim Habib, Senior Vice President and Head of Kia Global Design Center.

It’s a big beast too – almost 5m long, over 2m wide and 1.8m tall with a 3.1m wheelbase.

They hope for a range of almost 500km, with 350kW charging capability with 10-80% charge in 20-30 minutes.

I love it, but I can imagine it’s polarising for some.

Whatever the case, can’t wait to see something like it in production.
