Cinemas can be fraught with danger in these current times but what about a cinema for just you and three of your closest friends? Leading smart projector brand Nebula has launched Nebula Cinema bringing a high-quality cinema experience to Darlinghurst, Sydney (and yes only Sydney unfortunately) and the best part is it’s free!

Using a Nebula Cosmos Laser 4K projector (valued $4,295 AUD), the Nebula Cinema offers four full leather reclining chairs, surround sound, and the biggest attraction, free, unlimited popcorn, drinks and snacks for you to enjoy while watching your choice of streaming shows. The 4K projector projects into a massive 150-inch display delivering an amazing, immersive viewing experience.

The Nebula Cosmos Laser is Nebula’s first premium, long-throw projector featuring 4K UHD resolution. Housing 7,000+ streaming apps, it features an easy-to-use Android TV 10 interface with built-in Chromecast, so guests can easily connect to their favourite streaming service.

So what can you watch? Anything from over 7,000 mainstream streaming apps including Netflix, Hulu, ESPN, Amazon Prime and Disney+ — although you will need to use your own login details to use the service you choose. The Nebula Cosmos Laser projects the content using Chromecast onto the screen in 4K quality.

Of course if you are blown away by the quality of the picture when you go you can purchase your own projector from JB Hi-Fi. Gaspar Xie, Head of Sales & Operations ANZ at Nebula ANZ said, “Traditionally, people would either go out to the cinema for that big screen experience or stay home and stream their favourite shows. The Nebula Streaming Cinema is all about merging the two together, bringing a cinematic experience to the living room. By offering cinema-like video quality and an ocean of content to stream from, all in the comfort of a cosy, private space, we’re showing Aussies they can have the best of both worlds.”

Sessions are capped at two hours (I’m not sure what happens if your movie takes longer than two hours) and are available from now until August 6. At this stage there are over 800 people on the waiting list with more bookings being made available later this week.

To book a session or find out more head on over to the Nebula Streaming Cinema website. The cost is free and the cinema is located at 6/6-14 Oxford Street, Darlinghurst, Sydney. Did I mention the popcorn, snacks and drinks were free AND unlimited? Get onto it now before it is too late!
