There have been some big changes in the streaming world in the past few weeks and Amazon is apparently set to make some big changes themselves with the offer of an ad-supported tier to customers.

Netflix and Disney already offer an ad-supported and in what is becoming an arms race Amazon are joining the party.  According to The Wall Street Journal, Amazon is planning on adding a new membership tier to Prime which will be ad-supported to make it cheaper for customers.

Amazon has also reportedly been in talks with Warner Bros Discovery and Paramount Global to add ad-supported tiers of their services through Prime Video Channels.

None of the above companies has commented on any of the rumours but given Disney and Netflix already have ad-supported tiers you can be sure one will be coming down the pipeline for Amazon Prime in the not-so-distant future.

As much as I hate ads, I’m here for it – keeping up with all these streaming services is becoming expensive.
