At CES 2024 this coming week Samsung will be showing off their new collaboration with Tesla that will connect SmartThings Energy to Tesla products such as the Powerall home battery, Solar Inverter, EVs and more.
Using Tesla’s open APIs the new collaboration will for even more expansion of SmartThings Energy’s capabilities. Users will be able to use SmartThings Energy to connect to their Tesla home product to display information relating to their energy production, storage and usage.
“Tesla Energy’s customers can now manage and monitor the power status of their homes through SmartThings Energy and Samsung devices in addition to the Tesla app, ensuring more access and connectivity,” said Chanwoo Park, EVP and Head of IoT Development Team of Device Platform Center at Samsung Electronics.
The SmartThings Energy app can thus help users plan for energy events such as outages, storms and more with this information from the Tesla home energy product.
Samsung’s use and integration with Tesla’s products is part of their goal of their Net Zero Home project.
