This morning at CES, Lenovo have unveiled their latest gaming devices with new premium Legion series laptops and desktop systems, as well as their more budget friendly devices in their new LOQ series, and new gaming peripherals. 

Legion

The new Lenovo Legion series includes a range of new laptops including the Legion 7i, Legion 5i and Legion Slim 5, announced with 16” displays, aimed at gamers who also want to use apps on the side. The Legion 9i has also been announced with a 16” display, offering a big screen option for those wanting gaming and content creation. There’s also the new Legion 7i Pro and Legion Pro 5i, for those looking for the ultimate gaming devices. 

For desktop users, the Legion Tower 7i and Legion Tower 5i offer that extra grunt you can only get from a top-tier gaming PC.

Lenovo Legion 7i (16”, 9), Lenovo Legion 5i (16”, 9), and Lenovo Legion Slim 5 (16”, 9) 

The 9th gen Lenovo Legion 7i, Legion 5i and Legion Slim 5 offer a solution for users wanting ‘processor-intensive apps prevalent in STEM studies or the hungriest of AAA games’. 

The Legion 7i and Legion 5i are powered by up to an Intel Core i9-14900HX, while the Lenovo Legion Slim 5 includes up to an AMD Ryzen 8040 Series processor. All three models include options up to an NVIDIA RTX 4070 8GB Laptop GPU with 32GB DDR5 RAM and up to 1TB M.2 Gen 4 SSD.

Legion 7i

The new Lenovo Legion 7i keyboard includes the all-new Copilot key, giving you fast access to Microsoft’s recently announced AI companion.

Lenovo Legion 9i (16”, 9)

The 9th gen Legion 9i offers the latest Intel Core i9-14900HX CPU, with graphics raging up to an NVIDIA GeForce RTX 4090 GPU, capable of delivering up to 230W TDP, all managed by the newest LA3-P AI chip – their latest custom chip to dynamically adjust power to the CPU and GPU to increase performance based on what you’re doing.

The Legion 9i includes a 16″ 3.2k (3200 x 2000) Mini LED display with 165Hz refresh rate and 3ms response time. It features 100% DCI-P3 support and is DisplayHDR 1000 certified and comes with Dolby Vision and NVIDIA G-SYNC and AMD Freesync support. 

The laptop will include up to 64 GB 5600MHz DDR5 and up to 2TB M.2 2280 PCIe Gen 4 SSD and also supports up to Wifi 7. There’s a 99.99WHr battery inside to keep you powered on the go.

Lenovo Legion Pro 7i (16”, 9) and Lenovo Legion Pro 5i (16”, 9) 

For gamers who need the ultimate in FPS, style, and screen, the Legion Pro 7i and Legion Pro 5i offer  a 14th gen Intel Core i9-14900HX with up to 32GB 5600MHz DDR5 RAM and up to 2TB Gen 4 SSD storage with a 99WHr battery powering the Legion Pro 7i, while a 80WHr battery runs the Legion Pro 5i.

The laptops include a large 16” PureSight WQXGA IPS display which can support up to 240Hz refresh rates with 500 nits brightness. The upgraded PureSight displays feature 100% DCI-P3 coverage. 

Both the Legion 5i Pro and Legion 7i Pro include the Trustrike Keyboards native to the line, which offer four switchable keycaps and per-key Legion Spectrum RGB Lighting. The Legion 7i Pro though, also includes the all-new Windows Copilot key.

Legion Tower 7i and Legion Tower 5i 

For those looking for something to add to their desktop battlestation, the Legion Tower 7i and 5i offer the extra horsepower of a top-tier gaming tower PC.

The Legion Tower 7i includes a 34L desktop tower case, powered by up to Intel Core i9 14900K processors and up to the latest NVIDIA GeForce RTX Desktop GPUs. You can even go up to 64GB 5600MHz DDR5 RAM and up to 6TB of PCIe NVMe SSD storage with a 1200W 90% PSU.

Legion Tower 7i

The smaller Legion Tower 5i includes a more compact 26L desktop case with up to 13th Gen Intel Core i9-13900F processors and up to NVIDIA GeForce RTX 4080 GPUs. The systems can be configured with up to 32GB of 5600MHz DDR5 RAM and up to 2TB PCIe NVMe SSD storage with up to an 850W 90% PSU.

LOQ

The new Lenovo LOQ series was introduced early last year catering to ‘new gamers’ first foray into gaming with powerful future-proof PCs that share DNA with the Lenovo Legion’. The new LOQ range includes new laptops, as well as a new Tower systems for desktop gamers. 

There’s a variety of new models to choose from including the Lenovo LOQ 15IRX9, Lenovo LOQ 15IAX9I, Lenovo LOQ 15IAX9, and Lenovo LOQ 15AHP9 laptops and Lenovo LOQ Tower 17IRR9.

LOQ 15IRX9

The new LOQ range includes CPU and GPU options including both Intel and AMD Ryzen CPUs as well as both NVIDIA 20, 30, and 40 Series Laptop GPUs,as well as Intel Arc A530M graphics. There’s also improvements in cooling, with the new hyperchamber thermal technology keeping the laptop cooler, while generating less fan noise. 

Gamers can be sure they’re getting great gear, with all LOQ laptops including high-refresh panels, with either a 165Hz WQHD (1440p) 5ms response time panel, or a 144Hz FHD panel, both of which support 100% sRGB colour coverage. The design aesthetic is also there, with an option for 4-zone RGB lighting on the keyboards.

The new LOQ range also includes a desktop with the LOQ Tower 17IRR9. The compact 17L chassis includes up to a 13th Gen Intel Core i7-14700 processor with up to an NVIDIA GeForce RTX 4060 GPU. There’s options for up to 32GB 4800MHz DDR5 RAM, and supports for up to 1 SSD and 2 HDD hybrid storage options. All of this is powered by a 500W, 92% PSU.

Accessories

Of course there’s a new range of Lenovo accessories, with the new Legion M410 Wireless RGB Gaming Mouse, as well as the Legion K510 Pro Mini Keyboard. 

The Lenovo Legion M410 Wireless Gaming Mouse fcan connect with either a 2.4Ghz wireless connection or wired connection. The mouse has an incredible 16000dpi for accurately tracking your movements, and features adjustable 2-zone RGB lighting effects for the cool gamer aesthetics. The whole thing is powered by a rechargeable battery. 

The Lenovo Legion K510 Mini Pro Keyboard is a compact option, packing a number of excellent features including mechanical key switches, arrow and function keys, anti-ghosting, and 16.8 million colour per-key RGB support, all in a 75%-size form factor.

The Lenovo Legion M410 Wireless RGB Gaming Mouse is expected to be available May 2024, with pricing to be announced. Unfortunately, Lenovo has advised that the availability and pricing for the Legion K510 Pro Mini Keyboard is to be announced.
