With such amazing bird life in Australia, seeing them up close can be difficult. Birdfy has been offering smart bird feeders for a while, and at CES 2025 they’re expanding their range with the Birdfy Feeder 2 Duo, as well as Birdfy Feeder Metal and Birdfy Bath Pro.
The Birdfy Feeder 2 Duo upgrades their Birdfy Feeder 2 Pro with more cameras and also includes the solar panel to power batteries on both cameras.
The unit is green to blend in better with natural surroundings and includes the worlds first dual-lens camera auto-trace & smart capture.
The unit is smart with an AI algorithm that automatically identifies more than 6,000 species, capturing perfect bird photos and wide-angle video clips and delivering them to your phone. You also get motion alerts that can tell you when a bird is there in real-time.
Images and video can be stored in the cloud with a plan, or locally on a microSD card so you can access your pics and clips any time.
The camera is IP66 rated, and the housing is tested for extreme cold and heat so you can be comfortable leaving it outdoors
While my original Birdfy Feeder is still going strong 2 years later, I’ve always wondered about the long term durability. To answer this, Birdfy has launched the Birdfy Feeder Metal.
This is their first all-metal bird feeder and it’s built to endure rain, wind, and harsh outdoor conditions with a rust-resistant coating, chew-proof construction – and it looks pretty good as well.
As with the rest of the Birdfy range, it comes with a built-in solar panel and camera offering 1080P wide-angle video as well as full-color night vision.
The metal feeder includes a convenient magnetic roof clip for effortless refilling, with the rest of the unit an all-in-one design which ensures that the adjustable perch and integrated accessories stay securely attached, eliminating the risk of misplaced parts.
It’s already hot in Australia and the local wildlife have been hitting any water sources they can. The new Birdfy Bath Pro offers a smart way for the local birds to get a drink, bathe and show off on camera at the same time.
The bird bath includes the same dual-lens camera as the Birdfy Feeder 2 Pro — a wide-angle lens paired with an automated tracking lens and a fountain that comes with interchangeable nozzles – all powered by a built-in rechargeable battery and integrated solar panel.
The all-weather housing is built to withstand extreme temperatures and is made from 20% recycled ABS plastic, it’s UV-resistant to last longer outdoors and an IP66 waterproof rating, ensuring durability in all weather conditions.
It’s a simple “plug & play” setup with no complicated assembly. You can detach both the camera and basin for cleaning and maintenance.
The new range of Birdfy products can be seen on their website.
On the local front, we’ve been waiting for an Australian distributor for Birdfy for some time, and on that front we have excellent news. Local distributor Clever Gear will be launching the Birdfy Feeder 1 and Birdfy Feeder Bamboo this spring in Australia.
We’ll have more news on the pricing and where you can get your hands on these very soon.
