LG launches new evo OLED lineup includes brighter panels and more AI

Ahead of their scheduled press conference tomorrow morning, LG has unveiled their new OLED evo line of 4K TVs, including the world’s first true wireless OLED evo M5, and OLED evo G5 models. 

The new LG evo M5 and G5 OLED models will come in 55”, 65”, 77” and 83” sizes and are powered by LG’s latest second generation α (Alpha) 11 AI processor, offering a number of new AI-driven personalisation options, as well as providing enhanced picture and sound quality. 

The LG evo OLED M5 is also the world’s first true wireless OLED TV, with the Zero Connect Box able to deliver wireless audio and video at up to 144Hz without latency or loss in picture and sound quality. 

Both the new evo OLED TVs will be brighter thanks to LG’s upgraded Brightness Booster Ultimate technology. This combination of finer controls on light control architecture, and algorithms for enhancing the image allows for finer details to become visible across different brightness levels.

The OLED panels on both the M5 and G5 support HDR10, and achieve ‘perfect black’ and ‘perfect colour’ on certification from UL Solutions, as well as 100% colour fidelity from Innertek. 

The AI also extends to Filmmaker Mode with Ambient Light Compensation, a new feature which detects lighting conditions and adjusts the picture quality to maintain ‘the filmmaker’s original intent’.

The second generation α11 processor also allows for improvements to audio with LG’s AI Sound Pro able to deliver a virtual 11.1.2 channels of surround sound experience. 

LG will also use AI for recognising users, with LG’s new “AI Magic Remote” using voice ID to recognise users, offering individual profiles, as well as content suggestions based on their preferences. LG is also offering more conversational AI powered search, and access to Microsoft Copilot for further queries. 


LG is also bringing a Generative Image Gallery, letting you create custom backgrounds from voice prompts.

Gamers will also enjoy using the LG OLED evo range, with the panels supporting the industry’s first 4K 165Hz Variable Refresh Rate (VRR). They also come with certification for both NVIDIA G-SYNC and AMD FreeSync Premium for tear-free, stutter-free gaming. 

The new LG evo OLED line is running their Web OS software, giving you access to a vast range of streaming apps, games and more. Web OS also powers their smart home offerings, with the new evo OLED lineup supporting this with integration of Home Hub – which can now connect to multiple ecosystems, starting with LG’s ThinQ and Google Home, giving you control of more IoT devices. 

At this stage no pricing or availability information has been released for the new evo OLED M5 and evo OLED G5, but we’re keen to check them out.
