It’s official – I’m the resident Maxibon expert. Not because I eat that many but I get to discover and then let you good people know when there is a new flavour coming out.

Please note you guys at Peters – I’m yet to receive free samples

We’ve recently had Cinnamon Scroll flavour and even Krispy Kreme but now Peters is going Bananas. Or is that Bonanas?

Believe it or not the original Barney Banana Ice Cream was launched in 1958. That’s older than me and that’s saying something. Barney had long since retired but Peters tell us that the interest never waned and customers kept asking for him to return

Customers demand to see Barney once more

Whilst he has not been resurrected in his original form, he has made a comeback transformed into the new Maxibon Barney Banana featuring the signature Barney Banana flavour Aussies know and love, sandwiched between two choc biccies, dipped in choc vanilla biccie crumb on the other end.

“Barney Banana is one of those products Aussies have an incredible amount of nostalgia for. We knew if we were going to bring him back, we had to do it in a way they wouldn’t expect,” said Peters Ice Cream Head of Marketing, Andrea Hamori.

So if you want to relive old times or be introduced to Barney for the first time then head to Coles, Woolworths and independent grocery stores to grab a multi-pack or to your local petrol and convenience store for singles.

Multi-packs have a RRP of $11.50 and singles are RRP $5.60
