Smart device maker Ring has today announced that they’re refreshing their range of Stick Up Cams, as well as launching a brand new Indoor Cam in Australia for $99. They’ve also refreshed their indoor/outdoor Stick Up Cams with new battery operated and solar models coming too.
At just $99 the new Indoor Cam addresses the need in the Ring range for a more affordable model that doesn’t need to be an all weather device. The camera still draws on the companies extensive experience in smart video cameras for what promises to be an excellent device.
The Indoor Cam includes support for up to 1080p HD video, with night-vision as well. The included app supports motion zones with motion-activated recording that can be set via the Ring app – available on Android and iOS.
Privacy advocates will be pleased to know there’s an indicator light that displays whenever the camera is recording so you know it’s online, and you can also disable motion and audio recording in the app.

As well as the new indoor camera, Ring has refreshed their indoor/outdoor models with the third generation of their Stick Up Cam. The new Stick Up Cam are weather resistant and can be installed both indoors or outdoors, with two power options: Battery $179.00, and Solar $259.00.
There’s not a lot of difference between the spec sheets between the Gen 2 vs the Gen 3, with the main difference being in the field of view – 115 degrees horizontal, 65 degrees vertical on Gen 2, vs 110 degrees horizontal, 57 degrees vertical on Gen 3.
The gen 3 Stick Up Cam still features up to 1080p HD video, with wide-angle viewing allowing you to see almost everything in front of it. Motion detection is built-in and allows you to get alerts when anything hits the zones defined and you can speak with them through the two-way talk feature.

Ring says the new Indoor Cam will be available in Australia for $99 from February 18th, while the new generation Indoor/Outdoor Stick Up Cam will hit Ring and Amazon from January 29th.
