Best of luck getting keeping your wife away from Spotlight now boys, Cricut is back with two new smart cutting machines that will probably sell-out in no time.
My wife and mother-in-law are slightly (actually totally) obsessed with their Cricut machines, one has the Cricut Maker the other the Cricut Joy.
Enter a new more affordable mid-range Cricut with the Expore 3, and the new king of the hill – the Maker 3.
Key changes with the new machines are:
- Speed
- Length of cut
- Smart Vinyl
Plus a range of new accessories, including a Roll Holder which got my wife pretty darn excited.
Both machines can now cut at a speed of 20.3cm per second making the whole process faster, while they can also cut up to 3.6 meters at once.
For those deep in Cricut world, you’ll know that Smart Vinyl was something that the smaller entry level Joy allowed for, meaning you didn’t need the vinyl cutting mat in place for your creation. A wider roll of Smart Vinyl will be available for the new Cricut Maker 3 and Cricut Explore 3, and with that plus the length some epic creations will be possible.
Cricut CEO Ashish Arora said “I’m very proud of what our team has accomplished,”
“We wanted to take the experience to a whole new level and make sure our next generation of cutting machines make it easier on everyone to create larger projects, more projects, much faster.”
The Cricut Maker 3 will be available for $699 from June 27, though you can pre-order from June 10 from Spotlight and Harvey Norman.
If you’re looking for a solid upgrade from the Joy, or a more capable entry into the Cricut world, check out the Explore 3, same dates and pre-order timing.
We’ll have (I mean, my wife will have) a full review soon.
