The Super Mario smart connected watch from TAG Heuer was a huge success a little over a year ago and TAG is back in partnership with Nintendo, this time with some traditional mechanical watches.

The Tag Heuer Formula 1 X Mario Kart limited edition watches are all that we saw with the connected model, and more. Because they are classic analogue watches, they will forever tick and turn, which frankly makes them a far better investment than the Connected Super Mario watch.

But you’ll need a supportive wife or a second mortgage.

The Chronograph is limited to just 3,000 watches worldwide and will cost you $6,250 in Australia.

Now I hope you’re sitting down, because the Chronograph Tourbillon is an eye watering $37,050.

Given we saw the connected watch double in price on the after market, that $37k could be a sweet sweet deal in the short and long term. Sadly, that’s for someone else to discover.

Inside the watch face are small Mario icons, the back of the case has stunning design as does the clasp the band and even the crown.

Frédéric Arnault, CEO of TAG Heuer says “We are excited to reveal the two latest pieces born from our collaboration with Nintendo. The TAG Heuer Formula 1 X Mario Kart Limited Editions (Chronograph and Chronograph Tourbillon) expertly mix fun gaming references that will delight fans of Mario Kart around the world, with refined and high performing timekeeping.”

“The spirit of the TAG Heuer Formula 1 collection was the perfect match for mechanical Mario Kart limited editions, thanks to its modern and playful personality, driven by speed and friendly competition. The two timepieces are designed for lovers of fine watchmaking who have kept their fresh, fun outlook on life.”

Want one? Don’t we all.
