As a dog owner, it’s only natural to want the best for your furry friend. You make sure they get plenty of exercise, feed them the highest quality food, and take them to the vet for regular check-ups. But even with all of these measures in place, it can be difficult to know for sure that your dog is as healthy as can be. That’s where Invoxia’s new Smart Dog Collar can fill in the gaps.

The team at Invoxia are proposing that with medical grade accuracy, they’re able to constantly monitor your dogs heart and respiratory rate to establish base lines and preventatively monitor for illness.

It offers a wide range of functionality, including:

  • Heart and respiratory scanning during sleep
  • Appetite and activity monitoring
  • Real-time GPS tracking
  • Location history and escape alerts
  • Lost mode in case they get lost, run away or are stolen
  • Proximity radar and ringer

And if that’s not enough for you, it’s waterproof too!

The collar isn’t officially on the market yet, but is looking to launch this year in a range of sizes to cater medium to large dogs. It will operate on a subscription model at approximately ~$12 AUD/month to cover the cost of live GPS tracking. Battery life won’t be a problem either as it can last for weeks between charges.

While I’m not sure any of us need more subscription services in our lives, one that tracks a family members vital signs and location might be an exception to the rule. The smart dog collar will be available on their website later this year.
