If you ever doubted the appeal of Apple’s latest tablet, take a look at the sales figures from the opening weekend. Apple has announced that it sold over three million iPads in the first three days of being on sale. Wow.
Three million iPads is a huge number, although it is helped along largely by the fact it was released in 24 different countries at the same time. As a point of comparison, Apple’s best-selling iPhone 4S sold four million devices in the same time frame.
With those kinds of sales figures, and generally enthusiastic reviews for the new iPad, it’s hard to see how any other tablet is going to seriously threaten Apple’s dominance of the market.
