Ultrabooks may be the latest buzz word circulating around technology circles, but that’s mostly because they’re buzzing awesome. Dell’s first entry into the ultra-thin, ultra fast and ultra stylish segment, the XPS 13, has just hit Aussie stores, and it’s pretty enticing.

With a 13.3-inch screen made from super-tough Gorilla Glass packed into the body of an 11-inch notebook, an aluminium and carbon fibre body and a full size keyboard, the XPS 13 is one of the best looking laptops Dell has ever produced. The glass trackpad supports multitouch, the 128GB or 256GB SSD allows for rapid start up and the six cell battery reportedly offers about eight hours worth of battery life.

Packing the latest Intel processors, the XPS 13’s best feature though is its price. Starting at $1,199 for the basic unit and ranging up to $1,499 for the premium offering, the XPS 13’s price belies the premium hardware on offer.
