This colourful little fella might just be the perfect solution.
Sure you’re not going to take a yellow tablet to work for email and diary appointments. But for the home-based tablet, this is all you’ll need. It’s a Samsung tablet – quality and reliable. It’s an android tablet, so the Google Play store is all at your fingertips.
The key difference other than the fancy colour is that the device boots by default to “Kids” mode. In kids mode only selected apps are available plus you as a parent can even limit the time kids can spend using the device.
Switch out to standard mode, via a password if you like – and you’ve got a totally normal tablet – everything Android, all your apps.

Download apps from the Google Play store and you can if you like, add them to the kids-mode. I did that with the Mathletics app for example, one that I want my kids playing and it’s now available without any risk to my apps, my data and without direct parental control.
There are games pre-installed for the kids, like TOCA train (simple and fun!) and TOCA Hair Salon, so you’re off and running for the moment you buy it.
The tough-case
Nothing to be concerned about, this is a great device for families looking for a complete solution – oh, and if you get the optional tough-case for $70 you’ll have a stand and also stylus, so the kids can learn from day one how to grip a pen and aren’t learning to write with a finger.
