Christmas is just two weeks away. While you recover from that shock, and start planning your Christmas shopping, you can now check to see if your local Dan Murphy’s is busy before you head down to pick up some cold ones.

December is traditionally our busiest trading period, and we want both our customers and team members to have a Covid-safe festive season. The Q-tracker will help customers plan their shopping, beat the queues when a store has reached capacity due to social distancing measures and help everyone have a piece of mind,” said Dan Murphy’s Head of Marketing & Loyalty Utadi Murphy.

The Q-tracker tool will display real-time information for any Dan Murphy store. To check it out you just head to the Dan Murphy stores page and enter in the postcode or suburb of the store. The results will show if the store has a long queue, as well as results for nearby stores, so if your local is busy you can see if they’re a little quieter.

Q-Tracker was rolled out on Dan Murphy’s parent company Woolworths website earlier this year where it’s been a handy tool, letting you check the status of your local Woolies

The ability to see the busy times at stores has been included in services like Google Maps for some time which uses the aggregated data of their users to build a model. Q-Tracker uses real-time data to show customers whether stores have a queue and how long it is.

If the prospect of heading inside a store still isn’t something you want, then just like Woolworths you can use their direct-to-boot pick-up service at most stores, or take advantage of their 21/2 hour home delivery service.

If you want to give Q-Tracker on the Dan Murphy Website a whirl, here’s what to do:

Step 1: Head to: https://www.danmurphys.com.au/Stores/all-stores

Step 2: Enter the postcode or suburb of your preferred store and you’ll be taken to the store details page.

Step 3: Check the store details to view the estimated wait to enter the store and the most popular times of the store. Selecting the store icon on the map also shows if there is no queue, or a short or long queue.

Step 4 Based on the location of your preferred store, we’ll show you the closest  nearby stores and whether it has a queue or not – just below the details of your preferred store.

Step 5: To help you plan when to shop, click through on any of the nearby stores which will open a new page where you can view those stores most popular times as well.
