In the wee small hours of the morning in Australia, Apple has confirmed the date and time for their “September event” the biggest and most important of the year because it’s the time when they announce the next generation iPhone.

To be held at Apple’s headquarters in Cupertino inside the Steve Jobs Theatre, the event will take place at 3am on Wednesday September 13 Sydney time.

In 2023 there’s plenty to expect, headlined of course by the next iPhone – iPhone 15, assumed to feature the updated USB-C charging capability enforced apon them by the European Union, though don’t expect that to be as simple as a new port – more on that in the week ahead when we outline in detail what’s coming. The mute switch, something that has been on iPhone since day dot in 2007, may be replaced by a programmable action button, while the design will be similar though tweaked to that of the previous iPhone 12, 13 and 14.

It won’t be just iPhone though. Apple will likely use the event to announce new Apple Watch models, as well as possibly new MacBook Pro models, and even new iPads.

Time will tell, but all eyes on Apple – September 13 in Australia.
