Driving is an acquired skill, something that takes years of practice to master. Yet a Newspoll study commissioned by Beaurepaires has shown that only 36 per cent of Aussie drivers are nervous while driving in the rain.

The study, which was conducted to try and raise awareness of Beaurepaires’ free tyre check service, found that only 36 per cent of drivers are nervous driving in the rain, followed by 23 per cent of drivers fearing snow and 17 per cent nervous about traffic.

Obviously, with Winter upon us and the snow season well underway, it’s natural that drivers should fear the wet and cold. But surely that percentage should be higher? If you’ve ever lost control of a vehicle in the wet, you’d learn a lot mor appreciation for the skills involved with keeping your car on the road…
