In a world filled with video games on consoles, on phones and on TVs, the humble board game is about as useful as the cardboard it’s printed on. But by adding magnets and a wall-mount, board games are awesome again.
The Scrabble Message Board Game puts the social into the classic word game. By mounting the game in a central position and having magnetised tiles, a whiteboard for scoring and easy access to your letters on the go, the game shifts from the traditional coffee table game to a Words with Friends version with your family or roommates. Players can play their word whenever they get a chance, making games a lot less immediate but a more constant activity.
For $US28, it’s an awesome idea for reinvigorating the board game, even if cheating does become a lot easier!
