The great Australian lawn. It’s a staple of many homes, as is the hours of maintenance required to keep it looking great. Ecovacs, maker of some of our favourite robot vacuum cleaners is tackling the great Aussie lawn with their newest device, the GOAT G1 robotic lawn mower.

Launching in Australia on September 21st, the GOAT G1 robotic lawn mower takes advantage of Ecovacs 25 years in the robotics industry to deliver a robot lawn mower capable of taking care of your lawn.

The GOAT G1 robotic lawn mower offers a number of technological advancements including wireless boundary setting, navigation, obstacle avoidance and app interface.

Using UWB (Ultra-wideband) enabled beacons for a wire-free boundary and their TrueMapping Multi-Fusion Localisation System to map out your yard, the Goat G1 can plan out a precise path to cut your lawn, no matter what its layout, as quickly and efficiently as possible.

The system uses dual cameras (360° panoramic and 150° fish-eye) that can respond to your environment in real-time, avoiding obstacles like pets, hoses, and stones to provide an accurate position in your yard at all times.

The cameras also allow for a sentry mode, letting you plot up to 10 points in your yard for the Goat G1 to patrol around. The camera can capture any potential intruders, with the AI-based fisheye camera allowing users to zoom into the picture on their smartphone for a better look.

The mower can cover a lot of ground too, with Ecovacs saying it’s able to mow a standard 600㎡ lawn with a cutting height between 3-6cm in a single day, an improvement of over 2.5 times compared with other robotic lawnmowers says Ecovacs.

We know Australians love their gardens, and there is great pride by many in keeping them pristine. We also know that, just with home cleaning, lawn maintenance can be a hard and laborious task that many don’t enjoy, or sometimes can’t perform themselves.

As we have done with floor care and window cleaning, we are bringing new robotic innovation to the Australian outdoors for the first time, with the GOAT G1 exceeding the capabilities of existing robotic and manual lawnmowers by a substantial margin.  With its state-of-the-art features and cutting-edge precision and safety technologies, GOAT G1 epitomises our commitment to simplify and add further convenience and time-saving into our everyday lives.

said Karen Powell, Regional Director of Australia and New Zealand for ECOVACS ROBOTICS.
