Your Netflix experience is about to get much more personal as the streaming giant ditches the five star user rating system and replaces it with a simple thumbs up and thumbs down.
Netflix say they are “retiring” their five star rating system which allowed users to click and rate programs they’d seen which would then allow others to discover great content and feed into your own recommendation algorithm.
The stars will be replaced by a simple thumbs up and thumbs down – something much more familiar on the internet today. And, on titles you are browsing you won’t see the star rating, but a personalised match score percentage – based on what Netflix knows, this is a prediction of what you’ll enjoy watching.
